MEdia Associate

Location: Washington, D.C.

Major Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with an integrated team to understand client goals and develop relevant and effective communication strategies, particularly for diverse communities

  • Write clear, concise and compelling copy for radio, tv and print advertising

  • Effectively pitch creative thinking and ideas to internal teams and to clients

  • Stay current on advertising, branding, social and cultural trends and use that knowledge in your creative work

Other Responsibilities 

  • Serving as a point of contact for clients and their campaigns

  • Scheduling and coordinating production of advertising and post-production

  • Coordinating production shoots with clients and production crew

  • Working directly with editors in the production of print, digital, radio and TV ads

  • Working with media buyers and to track relevant ad spending

  • Preparing materials for new client development including proposals, memos, interactive presentations and demo reels

  • Ensuring vendor payments are timely and accurate 

  • Perform research and other administrative duties, as necessary

Successful candidate will have: 

  • A passion for reaching communities of color and working to find creative ways to make sure diverse voices are heard though paid media

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects while showing an attention to detail

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Demonstrated interest in political and policy work

  • Strong work ethic & willingness to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends

  • The flexibility to thrive in a firm that puts client service first and going the extra mile for our clients

  • Experience on political campaigns, with media production or past employment at a media or digital firm are a plus.

This is a full-time, exempt position and evening and weekend work can be expected at key points during the election cycle. This position goes through December 15, 2024 with the possibility of an extension based on mutual interest and business needs.
